Abstract
Yasas has a keen interest in research on natural language understanding systems. His current research work is on understanding emotions in short-text such as Tweets. His research focuses not only on the identification of emotions in tweets but also to associate an intensity value to indicate the degree of emotion expressed for each emotion. He has incorporated technologies such as transfer learning, deep learning, and machine learning to model emotions in tweets.
